Farida Zahran is an Egyptian writer/director currently pursuing her MFA in Film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She’s a thesis student at Tisch and is now working on developing her first feature. Her last short film, Youth, premiered at SXSW 2019 and received an Oscar-qualifying award at Palm Springs International ShortFest. Prior to school, Farida worked in development at the Doha Film Institute. She is currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
Farida also loves podcasts, bookstores, thrifting, comedy (improv, stand-up, you name it), and people-watching on the subway.
